What is the warranty on my phone?
There is a one year limited warranty on your phone. For more information on what's covered under warranty, review the warranty statement on the card that comes with your phone or in the user's manual.
To obtain repair or replacement within the terms of the Warranty, contact the Pantech Customer Care Center at (800) 962-8622 for support. The product should be delivered with a Return Authorization Number, a proof of Warranty coverage (e.g. dated bill of sale), the consumer's return address, daytime phone number and/or fax number, and a complete description of the problem. Transportation must be prepaid when shipped to Pantech or Authorized Service Center.
Why is my phone not receiving any incoming call, not allowing outgoing call, or not allowing a certain number to be called?
Your phone has a "Phone Barring" and "Fixed Dialing" feature, which allows you to block incoming calls and outgoing calls, and to limit you on certain number to call. Go to Menu > Settings > Security > Phone Barring or Fixed Dialing to make changes.
Can I prevent other people from using my phone?
Yes, you can prevent others from using your phone in two ways. You can lock your phone by using a password or you can lock your SIM by using a password. It's important that you remember your password, so write it down and keep it in a safe place.
Go to Menu > Settings > Security.
- Enable PIN1 Check will require you to enter your password to unlock your SIM card when you turn on your phone.
- Phone Lock will lock your phone and require you to enter your password to unlock it.
Note: Your phone can still dial 911 in case of an emergency even though the phone is locked. In other countries, you may dial 112.
How do I turn the speakerphone on?
You can only activate the speakerphone during a call. Press the soft key associated with "Speaker" that is displayed on the bottom of your screen.
Why does my phone display a G and other phones display 1X, EV-DO, or 3G?
Your phone uses GSM technology and it is data capable; so, a G indicates that you can transmit data up to 115 kbps (kilobits per second). 1X, EV-DO, or 3G are used for other types of phone using CDMA technology.
How do I download ring tones?
To download ring tones, go to Cingular Mall and connect to Shop Tones.
Can I use the downloaded ring tones from other web site?
Downloading ring tones from other web site is not guaranteed to work. Your best option is to download the ring tones from Cingular Mall.
Can I transfer my ring tones to a new phone or share them with other people?
Depending on the Digital Right Management (DRM), downloaded contents may be locked and will prevent you from forwarding or transferring them.
Can I use voice dial?
Voice dial is not available with this phone.
Can I charge my phone in other country?
Yes, the charging adapter has input voltage from 100~240 volts AC. You will need to purchase a plug adapter for the country you plan to use it in.
Can I use other SIM card from carrier other than Cingular?
Other SIM may not work well in your phone because it might not utilize all frequency bands with the network, so drop calls may occur. It is recommended that you subscribe to Cingular for this phone to utilize its full feature.

Why is my battery drained so fast?
The battery capacity depends on how much it was charged and how much power is consumed when used. If you are located farther from the cell tower and your phone signal is weak, it will work harder and consume more power, which gives you less talk time.

What is the maximum number I can store for my phone directory?
You can store up to 800 contacts in your phone memory or in your SIM card, depending on memory space availability. There's about 13 MB of internal memory capacity.
Can I use this phone as a modem?
No, this phone does not have a driver or software for use as a modem.
Is there any data cable I can use to download the pictures from my phone to the computer?
No, this phone is not supplied with a data cable for downloading. To transfer your pictures from your phone to your PC, you can attach your pictures to a Multimedia Message and send them to your email account to be retrieved on your PC.
Is my conversation secured?
Your conversation is much more secured than before and it is more difficult for anyone to try to listen in on your conversation. However, it is not guaranteed that it will be perfectly secured.
Why is the picture taken look so white?
Adjust the brightness when taking a picture by using the left or right navigation key. The brightness icon can either be on or off, depending on the Displayed Icons setting.
Why is the camera taking so long to snap a picture?
Check your Camera Setting. The Self Timer might be set to 5 or 10 seconds instead of None.
I took the rubber cap off near the antenna on my phone. What the plug for?
The gold-colored plug is for connecting with a testing instrument. It is recommended that you keep the rubber cap on at all time to keep debris from entering.
Will my phone get damaged in a moist environment?
Yes, moisture can damage it. It is recommended that you keep the phone dry and at normal temperature. Otherwise, it could void your warranty.
How do I set the ring tone for my specific contact?
To assign a distinct ring tone to a specific contact for incoming call, edit the contact's profile in the Address Book or add a new Entry.
Go to Menu > 8.Address Book > 1.Name Search > Select the name. > Press [Options] soft key > 2.Edit > Scroll down to the melody icon. > Press the right navigation key to select the tone. > When done, press OK to save.
How do I set my sound for my specific contact's text or media message, so I can identify the sender by the sound or song?
The distinct ring for a specific contact is only used for voice call. For text or media message, only an alert sound can be set, but not for a specific contact.
Go to Menu > 9.Settings > 2.Audio > 4.Alert Tones > Select the choices of: Once, Every 2 Mins, Every 5 Mins, or OFF > Press down to volume control > Press left or right to change the volume > Press down to Sound > Press left or right to change the sound > Press OK to save.
Is there any short cut key for the voice memo function?
No, there is no quick key for voice memo function. However, you can press the Left navigation to go to "My Stuff" and then press "54" to see the "Voice Memo" screen.
Can I get a return receipt on my text messages like the media messages?
No, the return receipt or delivery report is only for sending Multimedia Message.
My phone is out of battery. After connecting the adapter, why doesn't the phone appear to be charging and/or turned on when I press the power button?
If the phone hasn't been used for a long time and/or the battery power dropped below operating voltage, the LCD screen will be blank. Plug the adapter and wait for about 5 to 10 minutes for it to charge the battery. When the LCD screen shows "charging", the phone can then be turned on. It is recommended that the battery be charged as soon as possible when "low battery" is indicated.
