Why is my phone not receiving any incoming call, not allowing outgoing call, or not allowing a certain number to be called?
Your phone has a "Phone Barring" and "Fixed Dialing" feature, which allows you to block incoming calls and outgoing calls, and to limit you on certain number to call. Go to Menu > Settings > Security > Phone Barring or Fixed Dialing to make changes. Fixed Dialing requires a PIN2 password. The default password is "2222".
Can I prevent other people from using my phone?
Yes, you can prevent others from using your phone in two ways. You can lock your phone by using a password or you can lock your SIM by using a password. It's important that you remember your password, so write it down and keep it in a safe place.
Go to Menu > Settings > Security.
- Enable PIN1 Check will require you to enter your password to unlock your SIM card when you turn on your phone.
- Phone Lock will lock your phone and require you to enter your password to unlock it.
Note: Your phone can still dial 911 in case of an emergency even though the phone is locked. In other countries, you may dial 112.
How do I turn the speakerphone on?
You can only activate the speakerphone during a call. Press the "Option" soft key, which is the top left button on your keypad, and then select "Speaker On" from the list.
Why does my phone display a G and other phones display 3G?
A G indicates that you can transmit data up to 115 kbps (kilobits per second). 3G can transfer at a higher data rate, which is not supported in this model.
How do I download ring tones?
To download ring tones, go to AT&T Mall and connect to Shop Tones.
Can I use the downloaded ring tones from other web site?
Downloading ring tones from other web site is not guaranteed to work.
Can I transfer my ring tones to a new phone or share them with other people?
Depending on the Digital Right Management (DRM), downloaded contents may be locked and will prevent you from forwarding or transferring them. Only ring tones without DRM can be shared. You can transfer your ring tones via MMS or Bluetooth. Of course, your other device must be able to accept MMS or have Bluetooth technology.
Can I use voice dial?
Voice dial is not available with this phone.
Can I charge my phone in other country?
Yes, the charging adapter has input voltage from 100~240 volts AC. You will need to purchase a plug adapter for the country you plan to use it in.

Why does it seem like I'm getting a weak signal and frequent drop calls after I switch from Cingular to AT&T plan? What should I do?
It is recommended that you contact AT&T care center to report the drop calls and have your phone IMEI (fifteen digit serial #) be registered in the network. Your phone picks up signal strength from the cell tower in your coverage area, so the farther you are away, the weaker the signal.
Is there a pre-paid card for this phone?
Yes, there is a pre-paid card that you can purchase. Visit your dealer or AT&T store or go to its website for more details on different plans.
Why is my battery drained so fast?
The battery capacity depends on how much it was charged and how much power is consumed when used. If you are located farther from the cell tower and your phone signal is weak, it will work harder and consume more power, which gives you less talk time.
Why is the battery not charging?
Normally, when you charge your battery, the phone indicates it is charging. If the battery power level is too low, the phone will not indicate it is charging. Plug the charging adapter to the wall outlet and to the phone and wait for about 10 minutes for the battery to gain some charge. You should then see charging indicator on your phone. If there is still no charge, visually check the connectors for any sign of damage.
What is the advantage of having a C3b phone?
Other than the obvious sleek, small design, this phone is a GSM phone that utilizes a SIM card. The SIM card makes it easy to transport your phone number, phone directory, text messages, photo album, and various setting to another phone when you need to. Now, with the Bluetooth built-in, you can even use it with a Bluetooth headset hands-free device, plus other Bluetooth funtionalities.
What is the maximum number I can store for my phone directory?
You can store up to 800 contacts in your phone memory or in your SIM card, depending on memory space availability. There's about 13 MB of internal memory capacity.
Can I use this phone as a modem?
No, this phone does not support a USB data cable and it does not have a USB driver or program for use as a modem. Bluetooth tethering is also not supported.
Is there any data cable I can use to download the pictures from my phone to the computer?
No, this phone is not supplied with a data cable for downloading. To transfer your pictures from your phone to your PC, you can attach your pictures to a Multimedia Message and send them to your email account to be retrieved on your PC. Why is the picture taken look so white?
Adjust the brightness when taking a picture by using the left or right navigation key. The brightness icon can either be on or off, depending on the Displayed Icons setting.
Why is the camera taking so long to snap a picture?
Check your Camera Setting. The Self Timer might be set to 5 or 10 seconds instead of None.
I took the rubber cap off near the antenna on my phone. What is the plug for?
The gold-colored plug is for connecting with an instrument for testing. It is recommended that you keep the rubber cap on at all time to keep debris from entering. Also, attaching any external antenna is not recommended as it may cause interference with other electronic devices.
Will my phone get damaged in a moist environment?
Yes, moisture can damage it. It is recommended that you keep the phone dry and at normal temperature. Otherwise, it could void your warranty.
What's the difference between a C3 and C3b?
The C3 and C3b both have an interchangeable faceplate, but the C3b has an added built-in Bluetooth wireless technology.
What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is a short-range wireless interface that allows you to talk to your phone using a Bluetooth headset or to interact with other Bluetooth-enabled devices. Not all Bluetooth devices support all functionalities.
Can I use the battery from my C3 or C300 with the C3b?
Yes. However, the C3b will consume more power when the Bluetooth feature is enabled. Hence, the battery supplied for the C3b is a higher capacity at 930mAh instead of 850mAh.
