Why is my phone beeping every minute when I'm on a call or when I'm connected to a call?
The sound you are hearing is the "Minute Beep" which is an alert ten seconds before each elapsed minute of a call for individuals who are concerned in tracking their minutes of a phone conversation.
To disable the minute beep on the PN-210:
Go to Menu > SETTING & TOOLS > Sounds > Service Alerts > Minute Beep.
Select "Off" and press the OK button.
Can I change the time for the display to go off?
Yes, go to Settings, Display, and Backlight. Change the time from 5 seconds to 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or Always On.
What are Automatic B, Automatic A, and Home Only for the Preferred System?
Automatic B, the preferred default setting, acquires a service according to a preset frequency band first, and if no preferred system is found, a preferred roaming list is used. Automatic A acts the same as Automatic B, except different frequency band. Home Only is using a cellular service in only the home service area. Selecting this choice will prevent the use of roaming service in other area.
What is NAM and why do I have two options?
NAM, Number Assignment Module, stores the phone number, electronic serial number, and the system identification number on your phone. This is done for you when you activated your phone. If you've registered your number with two cellular service companies in your geographical area, by turning Auto NAM on, your phone will automatically select one of the two cellular services. This feature is Carrier dependent and may be available in the future.
What is the Common Code in Security setting menu?
The Common Code means the code is same for locking a device and locking the location.
What is Voice Privacy?
When this is ON, advanced voice encryption is enabled.
What is DTMF?
It stands for Dual Tone Multi-Frequency. Also know as Touch Tone. It is used mainly to communicate with other electronic device by pressing the key pad. Each key produces a different tone or frequency. Normal setting makes a short tone, while Long makes a long tone.
Can a picture be sent to the PN-210?
No, the PN-210 does not have Multi-Media Service capability. It will only accept text, simple graphics, and simple sound.
Can I add additional ring tone and wallpaper?
Yes, there are additional ring tones and wallpapers for downloading at www.vtext.com. Additional fee may apply.
How do I use the speakerphone on the PN-210?
To activate the speaker phone in idle, answering or calling modes, press and hold the CLR button. The phone returns to normal (Speaker Phone Off) after ending a call or when the phone is turned off and back on.
What is the difference between the 1X and the D?
1X indicates that the phone is using the 1X protocol. The 1X protocol is capable of high-speed data (3G). The D icon indicates IS95-2G Protocol. IS95-2G is not capable of high speed data.
How do I setup my voicemail?
To setup your voicemail you must follow steps available from your Service Provider (Verizon Wireless).
When you receive a voicemail message, your phone displays the voicemail icon and a New Voice Mail notification.
Press SEND to listen to the message.
The phone dials your voicemail phone number. If no voicemail number is stored, the phone prompts for a number. Your service provider may also store your voicemail phone number as Speed Dial number 1. If so, press and hold the 1 key to call your voicemail.
How do I program and use Speed Dial numbers on the PN-210?
To program Speed Dial:
1. Press the Menu key.
2. In the Contacts menu, go to Speed Dials.
3. Select the desired Speed Dial location.
4. Set the desired contact for the speed dial location.
To use One-Touch Speed Dial locations 1-9:
1. Press and hold the desired key for approximately two seconds.
To use Two-Touch Dialing for Speed Dial locations 10-22:
1. Press the first digit.
2. Press and hold the second digit for approximately two seconds.
I am having problems receiving Voice Mail and Missed Call notifications on my PN-210. How can I correct this?
If you are not properly receiving Voice Mail or Missed Call notifications, we recommend doing an Over The Air (OTA) update to be certain all of the proper PRL (Preferred Roaming List - updates the list of towers in your area) updates have been applied to your handset. To initiate this process press the following:
*228 and press SEND
This process will take approximately 30 seconds. Listen and press 1. Once the process has completed you will see a screen that says "Programming Complete" to let you know the process has ended. Normal use of your handset can resume at this point.
Does the PN-210 hook up to a computer?
No, the PN-210 does not have support for connection to a computer.
What is stand alone mode?
"Standalone" Mode turns off the phone's ability to transmit and receive a wireless radio signal. This unique feature allows the phone to keep powered on and used in an area were cellular phones are required to be turned off, such as when you're on an airplane. You will not be able to receive or make calls when Standalone is activated, however you will still be able use the phone's other features. When "Standalone" mode is activated, the antenna icon on the phones screen will be replaced by the word "OFF".
How can I turn off or set screen saver delay time?
The phone DOES NOT allow you to turn off or set the time delay of the screen saver.
