Pantech & Curitel's purchase of SK Teletech approved by FTC

Pantech Co Ltd said that its unit Pantech & Curitel Co has received approval from the Fair Trade Commission to buy a controlling 60 pct stake in handset manufacturer SK Teletech Co from SK Telecom Co. "The authorities approved our deal," a Pantech spokesman said. SK Telecom agreed last month to sell the major stake in the unit to Pantech & Curitel Co for 300 bln won or 66,050 won per share and form a strategic alliance to ensure stable handset supplies.
