The R&D Center of The Pantech Group has played a pivotal role over the last 10 years in both the advancement and growth of technology. The center has 960 engineers as of February 2005 and plans to increase its R&D staff by 29% to 1,110 engineers by the end of this year. As of August 2005, Pantech R&D personnel reached approximately 2,472 people, corresponding to as much as 53% of the total number of employees (4,664). Pantech concentrates its efforts on technology development with aggressive R&D investment. Its annual R&D investment in 2004 was 7% of the total sales. We believe this will be crucial to staying abreast of various consumer demands and fast-changing technologies. Furthermore, we never shy away from making bold investments for the timely recruitment of top talents to achieve sustainable growth.
